Meet the Doctors & Staff

Dr. Bailey is a 1998 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.  He grew up in the small town of Wauchula, Florida.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Zoology at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.  He decided to stay for four more football seasons and attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.  While at Auburn, he met his wife Dana.  He has previously worked in Destin, Florida and Orlando, Florida.  In 2002, he became owner of Woodland Animal Clinic in DeLand, FL, our sister hospital.  He purchased Beachwood Animal Clinic in 2005.  He and his wife have 3 children: Alan, Matthew, and Mandy.  He also has 2 dogs, Abby (pictured) and Bentley (a Yorkie), and 2 cats.  His menagerie also includes a guinea pig and a turtle.  Besides practicing veterinary medicine, he enjoys fishing, water skiing, coaching his son’s football team,  and spending time with his children.  He is very involved with the community and is a member of the Rotary Club of downtown DeLand.

Dr. Jackson grew up in Ormond Beach, Florida.  She attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Anthropology.  She attended the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with Honors in 1998.  She followed veterinary school with a 1 year internship at Veterinary Referral Associates in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  She previously worked in DeLand and Ormond Beach before joining our team in 2006.  Dr. Jackson is married to Dr. Jim Jackson (also a veterinarian).  They have 2 Weimaraners (Miles and Thor), 4 cats (Mr. Smithers, Rigatoni, Cheddar, and Emmie Lu), and 3 turtles and tortoises.  Dr. Jackson enjoys cooking, sewing, and reading in her spare time.  She competes with Miles in AKC Obedience, Rally, and Hunting Trials on the weekends.  Although she enjoys working with all animals, she has a special interest in feline medicine.


 

Dr. Hannah Duranleau img_15111

Dr. Hannah Duranleau was born and raised in Washington, Vermont.  After starting her career as a Certified Veterinary Technician, Dr. Duranleau continued her education at the University of Florida while working at both the large and small animal departments at the veterinary school. She continued her post-graduate studies at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the beautiful island of St. Kitts, returning to UF for her final clinical year and earning her DVM in 2013. Dr. Duranleau started her career in South Florida at the dental specialty hospital, Hometown Animal Hospital. During her first two years, Dr. Duranleau learned about dentistry and completed the small animal acupuncture course at the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. Dr. Duranleau and her husband Dzmitry have recently moved to New Smyrna Beach, with their two dogs and their cat. She is excited about their move and her new adventure joining the staff of Beachwood Animal Clinic.

Growing up in Palm Coast, FL, Dr. Mantz returned to her home after completing the nine years of training to becoming a veterinarian. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate degree obtaining a bachelor’s in animal science. She then attended vet school in Manhattan, KS at Kansas State University. After finishing veterinary school, Dr. Mantz completed a 1 year rotating internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta, GA.  She’s glad to be back in Florida!

Dr. Mantz enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, though she has a particular interest in internal medicine. Her hobbies outside of work consist of spending time with her family, hiking with her two dogs (Becky and Mojo), canoeing, paddle-boarding, and camping.


Rebekah Arnold rebekah

Director 

Our practice manager, Rebekah, joined our staff in 2007.  She has worked in veterinary medicine since 2000.  Her favorite aspects of working at Beachwood Animal Clinic include meeting with new clients and patients, educating clients about their pet’s conditions, and helping to serve her community.  In her spare time, Rebekah enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and stepdaughter.  She also loves to cook, surf, read, and likes to live the beach life!  Rebekah’s furry family consists of Mr. Binx the Pug, Lola, Aubrey and Talullah Marie (Tooter) the French Bulldog.

 


 

 

danielle  Danielle Haney

Practice Manager 

Danielle was born and raised in Hockessin, Delaware. She attended the University of Delaware where she graduated with her Associates in Arts degree in 2011. Danielle moved to Florida in 2013 to pursue a career in the animal field. Her love of animals first brought her to the Marine Science Center where she specialized in wild avian rescue and rehabilitation. Her experience through those years led her to love veterinary medicine, and she found a home at Beachwood Animal Clinic in April of 2015. Danielle’s areas of special interest are small animal dentistry and emergencies.  In her spare time she loves to play competitive volleyball, fish and enjoy her newly developed garden.   Along with caring for the dogs and cats that come into the clinic, she has some furry friends of her own. She shares her home with  2 chihuahuas, Nala and Bambi. Danielle loves all creatures from no legs to four.


Melia Richards melia

Melia is one of our veterinary assistants that joined our team in 2016. Melia has a deep passion for all animals and nature. Her furry family consists of 3 dogs   (2 German Shepherds and a blood hound), 1 cat, 3 ducks and 4 horses. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, fishing and sailing on her boat. Melia is very excited to be part of our team and can’t wait to meet you and your pets.

Becky was born and raised in the beautiful British Countryside where she completed her degree in Equine.  Becky traveled the world with the top class Show Jumpers.  In 2013 she made the move to the United States.  Becky continued her work with Equine at the Winter Equestrian Festival where she started to fall in love with small animal medicine. Becky is currently enrolled to get her certification as a veterinary technician with Penn Foster.   When Becky is not working you will often find her playing volleyball with her husband, riding horses or hiking with her fur baby Kuba.  Beachwood will be welcoming Becky’s newest family member soon!

As a Florida native, Tracy grew up on a farm in West Sanford.  In high school she started her animal career working in the kennels at a clinic in Lake Mary.  Following her graduation from Seminole Trinity Christian School, Tracy worked her way up to be an excellent veterinary technician.  She enjoys working with all animals small and large with a special love for our feline friends. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking, scuba diving, fishing and horseback riding.  Along with her husband and 2 daughters, Tracy has a furry family of her own consisting of 4 dogs (boxer mix, standard poodle, rat terrier and a min pin) and 3 cats (2 domestic short hairs and a rag doll).  Come in and see Tracy as she is thrilled to be part of the Beachwood family.

 Chelsea Swiger

Chelsea was born and raised in Sevierville, Tennessee where she met her loving husband Tim.  Chelsea and her husband moved to Florida in search for new growing opportunities in 2014.  Chelsea has a very deep compassion for all animals big and small.  Growing up she was an avid volunteer for many rescue facilities in her area.  Chelsea is currently enrolled in Penn Foster to further her education and become a certified veterinary technician.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband and 3 fur babies; Bailey the beagle and her 2 cats Oreo and Smokey.

Claudia Bauer

Claudia was born and raised in the beautiful Daytona Beach, Florida.  She is currently enrolled in Penn Foster College where she is working towards her Associates of Science.  Her goal is to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  Claudia’s dream is to travel to Africa to help in the conservation efforts to save the wildlife.  In her free time, she volunteers at the Sanford zoo and enjoys outside activities with her husband.  Claudia has two very furry rabbits named Thor and Frey, which she adores!  Claudia is thrilled to start her career and call Beachwood home.

Lindsey was born in Daytona Beach and has always had a strong love for animals. Growing up she raised livestock all through middle school and high school. You can find her volunteering every November at the Volusia County Fair with the youth exhibitors in the livestock barn as she still likes to help the youth with their livestock projects! In her free time she likes to explore the outdoors, go to the beach, and relax with her dog Tramp and two cats Max and Little Bit. She has a deep compassion for animals, both small and large while being in the field for 5 years. In the future she plans to further her education in the animal industry while she calls Beachwood Animal Clinic her home.
